Baraoas is geographically located in a far-flung barangay, one of the farthest barangays in San Fernando, 14 km. away from the City proper. It is bounded on the west by Barangay Pacpaco, on the east by San Juan, La Union, on the south by Barangay Bangbangolan and the north by Barangay Nagyubuyuban. It has a total land area of 4 084 671 hectares. It is basically an agricultural barangay considering that a wide portion of its land is cultivated and planted with rice and other farm product/crops like corn, vegetables, tobacco and others. Education was started in 1941. The house of certain Angel Cabading served as classroom and Mrs. Maria Hufano was the first teacher.She taught Grade I and Grade II. When the pupils entered Grade III, the house of certain Tisiang served as classroom. In 1944, with the initiative of the residents of Brgy. Baraoas, they constructed a makeshift classroom for Grades I-V. When the pupils entered Grade VI, they will enroll in Gabaldon Community School. In 1952, a kind-hearted man in the person of Mr. Benancio Rivera donated a 13,293 square meters of lot. With the collaborative effort of barangay officials and residents of the two catchment barangays (Baraoas and Pacpaco), Baraoas Community School started its operation as a complete elementary school. The school is now managed by a Principal, Mrs. Maria Magdalena P. Abaya and 8 committed and dedicated teaching staff composed of 8 Teacher III, 1 male and 7 female.
